The Opportunity

Value First Staffing Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Application Developer specialized in ServiceNow to join a major public sector digital initiative. This role is focused on the configuration, customization, and expansion of ServiceNow modules—specifically within the Customer Service Management (CSM) domain—and integration with modern contact center platforms.

You will play a critical role in designing and deploying robust applications that streamline public service delivery, ensuring all developments adhere to enterprise-level best practices and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

In this technical development role, your duties include:

  • ServiceNow Development: Leading the configuration, customization, and development of ServiceNow modules, with a deep focus on the CSM (Customer Service Management) module.
  • Full-Lifecycle Development: Designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting applications within an enterprise environment.
  • Platform Integration: Implementing and managing integrations between ServiceNow and Contact Centre Platforms.
  • Technical Documentation: Writing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for all developed solutions.
  • Best Practices: Ensuring all software development follows formal processes, including version control, unit testing, and peer reviews.
  • API Management: Developing and maintaining web services, including JSON REST APIs and message queuing systems.
  • AI Innovation: Exploring and implementing ServiceNow AI capabilities to enhance platform automation and user experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: College or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Certifications: Must be CAD (Certified Application Developer) and/or CSA (Certified System Administrator) certified.
  • Security: Must be eligible for Enhanced Security Clearance.
  • Technical Experience:
    • 5 years of experience in ServiceNow configuration, customization, and development.
    • 5 years of experience with the ServiceNow CSM module.
    • 5 years of experience in the full application lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy, support).
    • 5 years of experience with software development best practices and technical documentation.
    • 2 years of experience integrating with Contact Centre Platforms.
    • 2 years of experience working in or for the Public Sector.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • 3 years of experience with various development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • 3 years of experience developing JSON REST APIs and Message Queuing.
  • 1 year of experience with ServiceNow AI capabilities.

Working Conditions & Requirements

  • Location: Based in Edmonton. While remote work is possible, you must be available for meetings or sessions within the Alberta timezone.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time (36.25 hours per week)
  • Security Clearance: Eligibility for Enhanced Security Clearance is a mandatory requirement.
  • Mandatory Training: Upon hire, completion of courses in FOIP (Privacy), Cybersecurity, and Workplace Respect is required.
